The Transfomers “Revenge of the Fallen” Exhibition held recently on the weekend of 26 – 28 June, 2009 at Queensbay Mall Penang was a blast!

Fans from all ages can be seen browsing, bidding and grabbing their choice of transformers collectibles that was up for auction and sale during the exhibition. The exhibition by YB Danny Law, Penang State Tourism Minister and accompanied by Ms. Selina Ng, General Manager of Queensbay Mall Penang on June 27, drawn in unbelievable stream of fans from Penang, Kedah and Perak and even hardcore transformers fans from as far as Kuala Lumpur.

Fans and shoppers alike were truly enthralled and captivated with the display of over 1000 transformers collectibles in different shapes and sizes on Ground Floor and 1st Floor of the Mall’s main atrium.

Fifty Kuntum Club young members, aged from five to twelve, were seen participating in the game ‘Spot the Difference’ accompanied by moms and dads, who joined in the fun as well. Aspiring female models joined in the Are You Hot Enough “Mikaela Banes” Look-A-Like Contest that entailed them to get on a Superbike and posed for the flashing cameras. The event has indeed created much excitement in the mall as everyone rushed to see the pretty babes. Three outstanding young ladies, Ms. Felicia Tan, Ms. Yumiko Ching and Ms. Stefanie Chua bagged away the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes respectively.

Meanwhile, in ‘Guess & Win’ contest, Ms. Theresa Lim, a Penangite, walked away with the Grand Prize of a LG Home Theatre System, as she managed to answer all the questions accurately and pleased the judges immensely with the winning slogan “I love shopping at Queensbay Mall because I feel like a Queen, spoilt for choice!.” Big boys were also not left out. Over twenty huge and stylish Superbikes were brought in for the exhibition, with variation in models, speed and power; they left many big boys wanting for more.

As the exhibition drew to an end on late Sunday, 28 June, fans of transformers left with dreamy faces and with them, their favourite collectibles in their arms and cherished memories!

The largest Transformers exhibition with over 1000 collectibles held for the first time in Malaysia, is an event organized by Queensbay Mall and made possible by key sponsors: Golden Screen Cinemas, United International Pictures, LG, The Stage and KFC.  Last but not least, this exhibition would not have been such a smashing success without the great participation of TransMY members, a club for Transformer enthusiasts, who generously brought in their personal collections for public viewing.

Treats for Transformers fans

KUNTUM Club members who are hardcore fans of Transformers will have the privilege of attending a special event in conjunction with the launch of the movie ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ at Queensbay Mall in Penang on June 27.

The one-hour event which begins at 11am is organised by Queensbay Mall and there will be interesting games such as ‘Spot the Difference’.

Some 50 members of the Kuntum Club, aged five to 12, who register for the event will also receive a goodies bag each.

Over 1,400 collectibles of Transformers, ranging from the little Legend Class toys to the six-feet high model of Transformers, will also be on display for public viewing at the mall’s centre zone on the first floor from June 26 to June 28.

Transformers fans can also participate in the auctions for limited edition collectibles.

With purchase of RM60 and above in a single receipt at the mall, shoppers are entitled to redeem two movie tickets to watch the movie at 8pm on June 24.

Promotion starts from June 17 and is limited to the first 50 customers on a first-come-first-served basis.

There is also the ‘Are You Hot Enough?’ Mikaela Banes look-a-like contest at the mall driveway from noon to 7pm on June 27 and from 1pm to 3pm on June 28.

Registration fee is RM30 for the contest and 50 early birds will receive a STAGE cash voucher, make-up voucher and nail colour worth a total of RM125 each.

The subsequent 100 contestants will receive a STAGE lipstick, cash voucher and fashion voucher worth a total RM108 each.
