Children of Ramakrishna Ashrama

Last Sunday was an eventful day for children of Ramakrishna Ashrama, a local orphanage housing children age from 6 to 20 years old. The children were treated to a wonderful pre-”Deepavali” luncheon and an activity of “Roti Canai” eating competition organised by Queensbay Mall.

“Deepavali”, the Festival of Lights, is a time of giving hope to others and bringing goodness and happiness into their life. The purpose of this outing was to care for the little ones.

The luncheon fully sponsored by Palace De India, laid out a delicious buffet of local Northern Indian delicacies that served up to 38 children, teachers, staff members from the home and also volunteers from Queensbay Mall.

There was never a dull moment as the children mingled with the staff members and volunteers. Every single encounter was full of bright smiles and laughter. A moment of joy and happiness for the little ones came as well with gifts sponsored by Starbucks, Jusco Queensbay Mall and Enrico Sdn. Bhd. It was indeed a heartfelt moment for all.

Our message is simple:

“Let’s all be reminded how fortunate we are. Share with the less privileged for this holy Deepavali month and bring a ray of light into their heart, home and life. A little of kindness go a long way.”
